Biography

Born in Ajax, Ontario I grew up in a household where art and creativity were always encouraged. I credit my father, Wayne Moore, a retired artist who lived in Bobcaygeon, with giving me a solid foundation on which to build.

I graduated from George Brown (Toronto) Graphic Design Program majoring in Advertising. Since 1997 I’ve been the co-owner of Seastar Images Inc. a graphics/signage company that services the GTA and surrounding area. Although I continue to be involved in the graphics industry, my real passion has always been fine art.

I have enjoyed furthering my personal artistic development by continuing to attend a variety of workshops and classes including jewellery making, encaustic painting, detailed portraiture and Figurative Abstraction Classes with Brian Smith. I feel one never knows what path ones artistic future will take and it's important to continue to learn new skills.

As and artist I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to paint and draw without boundaries. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums working mostly in acrylics lately. My style is largely experimental with an emphasis on abstracting nature and landscapes. I never set out to replicate an image but instead strive to convey a mood or evoke an emotion using loose lines, rich textures and bold colours.

I have enjoyed showing across southern Ontario including galleries in Cobourg, Port Perry, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Collingwood, London and, of course, Toronto.
